Job Description: PLC Programmer | Grand Rapids, MI Salary Range: $65,000 - $103,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities - Develop and program PLC logic for new and existing manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and debug PLC programs and automated systems to resolve production issues.
- Perform FAT/SAT, commissioning, and startup of automated machinery and control systems.
- Design and implement HMI interfaces and SCADA systems for operator control and data acquisition.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for PLC programs, electrical schematics, and system configurations.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to define requirements and integrate solutions.
- Provide technical support and training to maintenance personnel on automated equipment.
- Ensure all programming and system designs comply with safety standards and industry best practices.
Recommended Qualifications - Proficiency in programming industrial PLCs (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens) using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram.
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with industrial control hardware, including HMIs, VFDs, servos, and sensors.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex automation system issues in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Profinet, and Modbus TCP/IP.
- Experience with machine commissioning, startup, and optimization of automated production lines.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and functional design specifications.
Bonus Qualifications - Experience with HMI/SCADA development and configuration.
- Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, PROFINET).
- Familiarity with database integration for data logging or recipe management.
- Experience with industrial robot programming and integration.
