Location: Waukesha, WI, US, 53186 Employment Type: Hourly Shift: Second Work Arrangement: Onsite Position Summary: Troubleshoot and support the electrical and controls of the facility and processes as well as design technical electrical and controls projects. Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment while following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Troubleshoots, programs, and maintains PLC's Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits. Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools. Replaces faulty switches, and other elements of electrical and mechanical systems. Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures. Installs, repairs, overhauls, modifies and maintains electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery. Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electrical, electronic, and mechanical components throughout the Plant. Maintains Plant power distribution systems, including performing preventive maintenance, and installing wiring, conduit and apparatus. Education and Experience: Journeyman Electrician or hold an electrical license. At least 5 years industrial experience preferable in food plant or with high-speed packaging equipment. Knowledge and Skills: Be able to diagnose electrical and controls problems and make the proper repairs. Must be able to read and communicate in the "English Language" in order to read and understand electrical prints. Be able to wire high and low voltage including control power. Be able to lay out a wiring project from transformer to equipment. Be proficient with PC and PLC controls and logic. Working knowledge and experience with Ladder Logic. Working knowledge of and demonstrated ability to use electronic and electrical test equipment including digital and analog volt and ohm-meters, oscilloscopes, data analyzers and circuit testers.
