Job Description

General Manager – Hotel Operations

Staffmax is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced General Manager to oversee the operations of a branded hotel property in Wisconsin. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, maximizing financial performance, and delivering an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong hospitality background, proven leadership abilities, and experience managing branded hotel operations within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

  • Direct and oversee all day-to-day hotel operations
  • Ensure compliance with franchise brand standards, operational procedures, and QA requirements
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and overall property presentation
  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional guest service and operational consistency
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming, and guest-focused environment

Revenue Optimization & Financial Management

  • Drive revenue growth through strategic pricing, inventory management, and operational planning
  • Focus on improving:
    • ADR (Average Daily Rate)
    • RevPAR (Revenue Per Available Room)
    • Occupancy performance
  • Conduct monthly Profit & Loss reviews and implement corrective strategies as needed
  • Meet or exceed financial and operational budget targets
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining service quality and guest satisfaction

Guest Experience & Reputation Management

  • Lead initiatives focused on improving guest satisfaction and online reputation
  • Monitor and respond to guest feedback across:
    • Online travel agencies (OTA platforms)
    • Guest review websites
    • Brand guest satisfaction platforms
  • Implement service initiatives that encourage repeat business and guest loyalty
  • Maintain strong audit and inspection performance

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and inspire a high-performing hotel team
  • Foster a positive culture focused on accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Support employee development through structured coaching and training programs
  • Drive employee retention and workplace satisfaction
  • Conduct ongoing service and operational training aligned with brand expectations

Ownership & Strategic Communication

  • Serve as the primary operational contact for ownership and stakeholders
  • Provide regular reporting on financial results, operational performance, and market positioning
  • Offer strategic recommendations to improve profitability and guest experience
  • Align operational strategies with ownership objectives and long-term goals

Sales, Marketing & Community Engagement

  • Support sales and marketing initiatives to increase occupancy and revenue
  • Build relationships with local businesses, tourism organizations, and community partners
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to maintain strong market positioning
  • Identify opportunities to grow revenue streams and strengthen brand presence

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of hotel General Manager or senior hospitality leadership experience
  • Experience managing branded hotel operations preferred
  • Strong understanding of hotel financials, forecasting, and P&L management
  • Proven success driving occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and guest satisfaction performance
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead teams and achieve measurable operational results
