We have an opening for a CDL Class B Vac Truck Operator .
Location: Rochester, NY
Primary Function and Scope: The Vac Truck Operator will drive a vac truck to various job sites to clear out water and contaminants from the job site.
Specific duties of the Vac Truck Operator will include but not be limited to:
- Drive vac truck to job sites in a safe and respectful manner.
- Prepare work areas by setting up safety measures addressing potential hazards.
- Operate vac truck equipment and perform duties in a variety of working environments, including confined spaces.
- Operate our equipment with constant attention to safety in adherence to company and customer policies.
- Perform routine inspections and minor repairs of vac truck equipment.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal employees and customers regarding work that needs to be performed.
- Maintain detailed records of vac truck work performed.
Qualifications: - High School diploma or equivalent plus at least 5 years of work experience; construction industry experience preferred
- CDL B driver’s license with at least two years of driving experience; comfortable driving a manual transmission
- IMPECCABLE driving record
- Tanker endorsement
- OSHA10 safety certification is required (If applicant does not hold this certification, P&CG will pay for computer-based training)
- Safety certifications preferred (e.g., First Aid/CPR, Fall Protection, Confined Space)
- Strong customer service orientation; able to communicate with site crews and address challenges
- Experience in a labor-intensive position and working outside in all types of weather conditions
- Capable of working variable shifts with extended hours; be on-call certain evenings and weekends
- Ability to work independently in a team and safety focused environment
Compensation: - $28.00-$33.00 per hour based on experience
Working Conditions and Physical Effort: - Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
