Glassboro Public Schools is seeking qualified candidates in the capacity of a School Bus Driver. This position is responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:
Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age, have a High School diploma, a basic New Jersey driver's license, and have three (3) years driving experience. A minimum of a class C commercial driver's license. Must have (P) passenger and (S) school bus endorsements. Must have 20/40 vision in each eye with or without corrective lenses, 70-degree peripheral vision in each eye, be able to recognize red, green, and amber colors, and be morally and physically fit. Background check and fingerprints required.
Reports To: Transportation Supervisor/Transportation Coordinator
Job Goal/Major Functions:
Safely and efficiently drive school bus to assigned locations on a designated route in accordance with specified time schedules and in accordance with regulations and laws related to pupil transportation. Assure the safety of students during transport and loading and unloading from buses. Perform routine safety inspections.
Terms of Employment:
This is a ten (10) month position with salary and contract terms to be negotiated with the Superintendent and the Board of Education.
Evaluation:
Performance in this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
