At this time, we are only considering people who are available long term.  This is not a seasonal position .

GUT-CHECK / SUMMARY : We're looking for part-time employees with retail experience and a desire to develop a long-term career. You're a smart, high-energy, positive-minded pet lover. Maybe your skills have gone unnoticed at Petco or PFE, and you think you'd be a better fit at a smaller store more intensely focused on helping pets and their owners. Or maybe you're currently under-appreciated in a larger corporate retail environment and would like to have more of an impact on your store. We'll train you about the pet world and our role in it.

You are applying for "Rover / Relief Cashier." In this role, you will work in all 3 of our locations.  Interviews and Basic Training take place in our Novato store.  After training, you will be scheduled to cover the shifts of people who are on vacation or out sick. Adaptable and flexible are two of your greatest strengths, because your schedule will vary.  It is a perfect position for someone who is self-employed or otherwise has flexibility around the hours they work. Down the road, when a non-Rover position opens up, you can request to be assigned to that location as your Home Store, if you wish.  Our 3 stores are all in Marin County, and all within a few miles of each other. ( Greenbrae, Tiburon, and Novato ).

Required : (do not respond if you can't answer yes to all)

• Do you have a contagious enthusiasm for pets & people?
• Are you willing & able to work weekday mornings , evenings , and weekends ?
• Are you willing & able to start work before 9AM and/or end after 7:30PM?
• Can you regularly lift & carry 50 lbs without concern?
• Do you love to learn about animals and pet care?
• We have stores in Tiburon, Greenbrae, and Novato. Do you have the means to get to each of these locations?

Extra Credit :

• Retail or business experience related to pets
• Familiarity with holistic & healthy pet foods
• Strong interest in the diet of pets, and all aspects of pet care
• Volunteered and/or supported non-profit animal rescue organizations

Basic Duties : (for everyone)

• Greeting customers & pets
• Providing thoughtful customer service & advice
• Opening / Closing tasks
• Retail Cashier 
• Cleaning the pet wash
• Receiving deliveries, stocking shelves
• Carrying customer purchases out to the car
• Keeping the store neat, clean, and orderly

This is a part-time position, though you will have the best opportunity to pick-up hours on any given week. As a retail store, everyone is expected to be able to work during the day, evenings, and weekends. We have three locations, and you will be scheduled to work in all three stores. Some time after your initial training, you will be assigned a "home store."
