Summary/objective This position is critical in our practice as the individual in this role is responsible for greeting and intaking patients at the front desk. This position requires use of the ATHENA Electronic Medical Records System to perform the following functions.
Essential functions - Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. - Greets & receives patients, vendor representatives, and other visitors
- Performs eligibility checks for upcoming patient appointments
- Prepares chart paperwork for next day
- Registers and checks in patients
- Updating demographic and insurance information
- Collecting financial / insurance information
- Recording preferred pharmacy / lab locations
- Recording primary care / referring physicians
- Collecting co-payments and balances due
- Scheduling appointments

Work environment and schedule - This position is full time, Monday through Friday.
Physical demands Sitting up to 8 hours per day
Travel required Must be able to travel between both locations if needed
Required education and experience - Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year reception experience
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Must be comfortable collecting and handling money (payments)
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
- Work well with patients, physicians, management, and staff
- Have ability to function successfully under stressful conditions
- Have excellent data entry skills
Preferred education and experience - Medical or hospitality reception experience preferred
- Experience with medical insurance preferred

Pay Range $21.00-$24.00 per hour depending on experience.
