Job Description * Provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education. The Medical Assistant experiences continued training of all aspects of the Medical Assistant role. Additional responsibilities and career advancement opportunities are available through a clinical ladder for Medical Assistants based on experience, skillsets, and certifications held. This role offers the opportunity to travel between offices —bringing variety to your workday and the chance to collaborate across multiple teams and communities. Education: * Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below. * Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. * All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment. Experience: * In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered. * Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office preferred. * EPIC EMR experience preferred. Phlebotomy skills a plus. · Must possess effective communication skills. Competency in basic medical assisting skills. · Including, rooming patients, assisting provider with exams, scheduling appointments, maintaining supply inventory, tracking referrals, blood draws, performing point of care testing, and EKGs · Working knowledge of medical terminology. · Strong computer skills. · Experience with medical software preferred. · Positive, customer-focused approach, with commitment to providing excellent patient care. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Strong organization skills and attention to detail We take great care of careers.
