Job Description

Salary: $100,000 - 160,000 per year Requirements:

• We need a masters or PhD in statistics, applied mathematics, financial mathematics, engineering, operations research, or another highly quantitative discipline, with a strong academic record.
• We need at least 4 years of professional analytical experience in financial services or a related industry.
• We need at least 3 years of demonstrated success in client-facing roles.
• We need advanced programming capability, including strong command of a statistical language such as R or SAS, plus experience with SQL, Hive, Pig, Python, C/C++, or Java.
• We need familiarity with relational, MPP, and/or Hadoop data management environments.
• We need proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• We need strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments effectively.
• We prefer someone with an understanding of current industry challenges and trends to help identify customer analytical needs and business opportunities proactively.

• We partner with internal and external cross-functional teams to support new business initiatives and create long-term product propositions for B2B customers in the U.S. financial services segment.
• We develop predictive risk management and business intelligence solutions for credit card issuers, auto and mortgage lenders, collections agencies, and retail banks.
• We lead client engagements using descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analysis across the consumer lending portfolio lifecycle.
• We build programs for data extraction, segmentation, and statistical analysis on large population datasets using tools such as R, SAS, SQL, Hive, and Pig across Linux, PC, and mainframe platforms.
• We present analytic insights and recommendations clearly and persuasively to internal stakeholders, external customers, and executive audiences.
• We prepare project proposals, sales presentations, and promotional materials that help drive adoption of our integrated customer solutions.
• We identify opportunities for customers to test and adopt our analytic products and services.
• We mentor and train junior colleagues while keeping initiatives moving forward with limited direct supervision.
• We help foster a high-performance culture that reflects our brand and commitment to excellence.

We are TransUnion, and this role sits within our Financial Services Analytics team, reporting to a Director of Data Science & Analytics.
