Salary Range: $1,500 – $2,000 USD / Month
Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
Employment Type: Full-Time, Remote
Experience Required: 5+ Years

About Us

We are a Washington/Baltimore metropolitan area glass and glazing contractor with over 70 years in the industry, recognized as a leader in commercial, residential, and governmental projects. Trusted by major general contractors across the region, our work is defined by precision craftsmanship, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to detail.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing remote team. In this role, you will play a critical part in the bidding and pre-construction process for commercial glass, glazing, and metal panel projects. You will work directly alongside our project management and production teams to prepare accurate, competitive estimates that support project wins and ensure seamless execution. This position offers a clear path to a Lead Estimator role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Estimation & Takeoffs

  • Review and analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and contract documents to develop precise and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial glass, glazing, and metal panel scopes.
  • Perform accurate material takeoffs and input quantities into estimating software and/or spreadsheets.
  • Ensure 100% scope coverage on all bids — identifying inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications to eliminate errors, omissions, and costly revisions.

Bidding & Proposals

  • Prepare and support the development of professional, competitive bid submissions and project proposals.
  • Meet all bid deadlines with thorough, well-organized documentation that reflects our standard of excellence.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner closely with the Project Manager and production team to review project leads, align on scope, and ensure estimates accurately reflect real-world project requirements.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with internal stakeholders throughout the bidding lifecycle.
  • Flag discrepancies, ambiguities, or potential value engineering opportunities within project documents.

Process & Documentation

  • Maintain organized and detailed records of all estimates, bid documents, and correspondence.
  • Uphold company standards for quality, accuracy, and professionalism across all deliverables.

Qualifications & Skills

Required

  • 5–8 years of hands-on experience in commercial glass, glazing, and/or metal panel estimation.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Strong material quantification skills with experience using estimating software or spreadsheets.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office 365; experience with ERP or construction estimating platforms.
  • Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal) — ability to produce clear, professional correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Preferred

  • Experience with specific commercial glazing systems (curtain wall, storefront, aluminum framing, structural glass).
  • Familiarity with bid management platforms or construction project management software.
  • Prior experience in an assistant or junior estimator role with progression to greater responsibility.

What We Offer

  • Competitive monthly compensation
  • Fully remote position with a structured, professional team environment.
  • Direct exposure to high-profile commercial projects across a major metropolitan market.
  • A defined growth path toward a Lead Estimator position.
  • Stability and longevity — a well-established company with a strong project pipeline.
