Chief Technology Officer We are currently seeking a high caliber CTO for a long-term basis within our client’s team of experienced professionals. Based in remotely with travel to Arizona as required.
We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology strategy, product architecture, and engineering organization. As a core member of the executive team, you will define and drive the technical roadmap for our microgrid solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and innovation.
Job Requirements Technology Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute the company’s technology vision and roadmap aligned with business goals
- Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team on product direction and innovation
- Evaluate emerging technologies to maintain competitive advantage
Product & Platform Development
- Lead the design and development of microgrid control platforms and energy management systems (EMS)
- Architect scalable, secure, and resilient systems across hardware, firmware, and cloud layers
- Oversee integration of solar PV, battery storage, EV infrastructure, and DER assets
Engineering & Team Building
- Build and lead a high-performing, distributed engineering team
- Establish agile development processes and technical standards
- Mentor and develop technical leaders within the organization
Operations & Execution
- Ensure successful product delivery from concept through deployment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align timelines and technical requirements
- Manage technology budgets and vendor partnerships
Compliance, Security & Reliability
- Ensure compliance with energy regulations and cybersecurity best practices
- Maintain system reliability for mission-critical deployments
Qualifications: - 10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles
- Strong background in energy systems, microgrids, or distributed energy resources
- Experience building and scaling software platforms and hardware-integrated systems
- Experience leading remote or distributed teams
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, IoT architectures, and data analytics
Preferred
- Experience with energy management systems, SCADA, or grid-edge technologies
- Knowledge of utility markets and regulatory frameworks
- Familiarity with AI/ML applications in energy optimization
- Prior experience in climate tech or sustainability-focused companies
